NoBODY Said I Love You.
Funded by Arts Council England, London's provocative Drag Prinx CHIYO dives away from the world of Cabaret to explore new avenues.
With themes revolving around the value of one's body, sex work, and an immediate relationship with human trafficking, Chiyo will be showcasing a week-long exhibition that is bound to trigger extensive questions about our worth as human beings. What is the value of our body?
As part of the exhibition, CHIYO has been taking anonymous submissions from strangers regarding their bodies. What do you have to say to your body? No names, pronouns, or aspects of your identity necessary. To make a submission - be that an extensive letter, a meme, one word, or a paragraph, please email whatever you have to say to ChiyoGomes@gmail.com
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS JANUARY 1ST 2020.
The exhibition will launch with a PRIVATE VIEWING at Transmissions on Monday 20th January, and open its doors to the Public for the remainder of the week.
On Saturday the 25th of JANUARY, your Drag Mutt will explore familiar territory and bring the exhibition week to an end by producing an entire one-man SHOW revolving around, and surrounded by, the exhibition itself.
This will be one of the last opportunities to catch CHIYO at work, in their current form, before their life-changing top surgery is scheduled. The work in this exhibition will be formed of entirely new content, and post-surgery Chiyo will be away from the life of Art, Cabaret, Drag, or any means of work until Mid-Spring 2020.
Come and support the movement. Bare witness to the transition of a wee Mutt.
