During the month of October we are showing films and having conversations about issues that affected the lives of 'dying queens' like Marsha P Johnson. To include issues of homelessness, ageing, street walking and more. We are looking for speakers, singers, poets, dancers and musicians to collaborate with us on these screenings ... Please contact us via this page or our website vfdalston.com . These are non profit events with door money going to various charities.
On Tuesday the 6th of October we are showing films on Marsha P Johnson and Sylvia Rivera . With an introduction from Lavinia Co -Op who knew these women and the world they lived in as well as the film makers . Tunes courtesy of Reba Maybury with other performances to be confirmed .

For the month of October at VFD we are showing the following films .
6th October - Showing film commentaries on Marsha P Johnson and Sylvia Rivera. With and exclusive intro and performance by Lavinia Co Op who knew Marsha and the makers of the film. With spoken word performances to be confirmed and music from Reba Maybury .
13th October - 'Before you know it ' a film by PJ Raval about being queer and getting older . With support from local interested groups to raise awareness. Performances from Pat Cash and others to be confirmed.
20th October - Showing 'Roxanne' a short film by Paul Frankl a film that looks and street walking and homelessness, with introduction from the film lead Miss Cairo. With spoken word and music after. This event will be supported and hosted by the trans collective Transisiters. Door money will be donated to a local homeless charity .
27th October - The feminist collective ' Hysteria ' show their film 'Dandy Dust ' in conjunction with performances and a party . The running order of the party to be published . www.hystericalfeminisms.com
