JULY 1st

London Trans Pride X VFD X UKBP

As part of the lead up to London Trans Pride 2019 in September the event organisers want to reach out to as many communities as possible and to consult with them about all aspects of the event. This evening is a chance for you to come meet with members of the team and to talk and share your thoughts on the issues raised in the film 'United Tongues' that are still affecting the QTIPOC community some 30yrs later.

Taking a lead on the evening will be QTIPOC performance artist
and member of London Trans Pride organisers Katayoun Jalili.

JULY 2nd

Leitis in Waiting X VFD X UKBP


Help VFD support the QTIPOC community under threat in the South Pacific. With the screening of the international award winning Trans activist film 'Leitis in Waiting' on Tuesday the 2nd of July as part of a week of programming leading up to UK Black Pride 2019.

Leitis in Waiting' is a raw yet tender portrait of Joey Mataele and the Tonga leitis, an intrepid group of transgender women fighting a rising tide of religious fundamentalism and intolerance in their South Pacific Kingdom.

Spoken Word London - Qtipoc Special

In the run up to UK Black Pride, VFD have programmed a week's worth of special events. We are putting on a special edition of Spoken Word London to champion and celebrate the QTIPOC members of our community!

The event will be hosted by our wonderful guest host Jamal Luddin and will have featured speakers opening each round, alongside our regular open mic. More details to come...

Poetry LGBT X VFD X UKBP

It is with great pleasure that VFD plays hosts to the event Poetry LGBT and its afterparty.

Andreena Leeanne started Poetry LGBT Open Mic Night in January 2015. Poetry LGBT is a warm and welcoming space for the LGBTIQ+ community to come together to share their experiences through poetry and spoken word. It is a vital and much needed space for us to share our creativity and express ourselves.

Come and enjoy an evening of poetry and spoken word from new and established poets/writers for this VFD UKBP Special.
