Trans Healthcare in the UK is in crisis, we need urgent change and reform. One of many and probably most talked about issues with the current system is waiting lists for Gender Identity Clinics (specialist trans services). Waiting times in the UK are currently between 2 and 5 years and there are all kinds of access barriers to even get on those lists in the first place. It’s perhaps no surprise that the trans healthcare system in the UK is failing the people it is supposed to support in a country under the conservative rule where anti-trans groups and individuals are lobbying to block trans people from basic rights, spaces, and resources. The system is broken, we need change and reform, we are losing people to waiting lists and lack of support.
