We are in the hold(ing), sister

Through a process of fragmentation, collage, and fabulation, Ebun devises softer, other-wise ways of imagining and speaking about the body, desire, archives, and the past. In dialogue with artists Em Williams, Ms Siren and Dextra Mandrake, this installation explores the intangibility of trans belonging and forms of trans people caring for themselves and each other.

Introducing ‘Emani Edwards’ by Alex Mein, the result of a collaboration between fashion stylist Emani Edwards and fashion illustrator Alex Mein.

This collaboration acknowledges the traditions of 20th Century western fashion illustration, which has historically focused on eurocentric and heteronormative representations of beauty and creativity. By presenting Edwards in larger than life figurative drawings, the hope is to create space and visibility for her presence and artistic perspective - narratives that have often been left out of drawn fashion imagery.
